Open since May 2018, The Frome Bookshop is a joint venture between Noel Crack and Peter Foster but, even before the shop, book lovers of Frome and surrounding areas were familiar with their faces as both Noel and Peter were regular traders at The Frome Independent Market.
The shop is a small and cosy space, nestled on the edge of Frome town, just at the top of Cheap Street, and fitted from top to bottom with shelves full of second hand books. Noel and Peter brought with them years of experience in the book trade and two very different business, meaning the shop can offer a great variety of subjects.
Noel's subjects include Local History, Natural History, Ornithology and increasing specialism in the Life & Works of the poets John Clare & Edward Thomas to name but a few. Besides the Frome Independent, he also traded on the Collector's Market in Devizes and PBFA Book Fairs for several years but at the moment he divides his time between the shop, his garden and country walks.
Peter & Thais specialises in Children's Illustrated - many Winnie the Pooh's and Alice in Wonderlands to be found - Fine Bindings, Literature, Modern Firsts, Art books & others.
More recently they also have been part of the Frome Book Fair, now a regular book event in the Frome Calendar.
